The rapid advancement of digital technology has significantly transformed educational practices worldwide, including music teaching and learning. This study examines how digital tools are transforming music education in Nigeria. It explores how technological resources are reshaping music teaching, learning, composition, performance, and appreciation. The study uses a qualitative survey design and highlights the opportunities and challenges of integrating digital tools into Nigerian music education. The work indicates that digital tools can enhance students’ creativity, musical skills, collaboration, access to learning resources, and engagement in classroom activities. They also provide music educators with innovative methods for instruction, assessment, recording, composition, and performance. However, inadequate technological infrastructure, unreliable electricity supply, limited internet access, high device costs, insufficient digital skills among teachers, and unequal access to technology remain significant barriers. The study concludes that effectively integrating digital tools can modernize music education in Nigeria and improve its relevance to contemporary educational and creative-industry demands. It recommends increased investment in digital infrastructure, teacher training, affordable technology, and supportive educational policies to ensure sustainable digital transformation of music education in Nigeria.
